Western New York’s Premiere Jazz Combo

To fill a consumer need, “Custode & Parisi” focuses on performing the “pre-bop swing” style of jazz, not currently performed by the other jazz groups in the WNY area. Additionally, the repertoire and instrumentation of trumpet/vocals, piano and upright bass sets the ensemble apart from the more traditional trio set up of piano, upright bass and drums in three major areas:

• Compact bandstand and flexibility: without a drum kit to consider, the group’s required space is less intrusive in both space requirements, as well as, volume.

• Sound of presentation: the unique aspect of a trumpet/vocal lead gives the ensemble a sound unlike those currently performing in the area. Additionally, the use of mutes serve to provide band with a timbre unique to the trumpet, providing the audience with an atypical musical experience.

• Repertoire: the group, by design, performs a repertoire that is out of the scope of “traditional” jazz group standards.
